Addition of three associates bolsters firm’s general offerings as well as deepens expertise in commercial real estate, aviation and international business tax
MIAMI – August 1, 2018 – Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Joseph Sultan, Eliott Rimon and Bryan Appel have joined the firm as associates in the Business Finance & Tax Team. The additions will support the firm’s strong corporate and real estate practices, and underscore Berger Singerman’s commitment to recruiting top talent.

The first of Berger Singerman’s three new associates, Joseph Sultan, focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial real estate matters, including financing (specifically, lender-side financing for senior and mezzanine loans, as well as EB-5 project financing), acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and real estate joint ventures. Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Sultan was a real estate associate in the New York office of Greenberg Traurig. Sultan earned his J.D. from New York University, and his B.S.B.A. in finance, magna cum laude, from Boston University.
Eliott Rimon is an associate with corporate and securities experience in matters including, but not limited to, startup operating agreements and bylaws, aircraft financing and leasing, and stock purchase and asset purchase agreements for multi-national corporations. He has also assisted and advised on public and private securities offerings as well as SEC reporting matters. Rimon also joins the firm from Greenberg Traurig. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and his B.S. in Business Administration from University of Florida.
Bryan Appel joins Berger Singerman’s Business Finance & Tax Team as an associate specializing in corporate tax issues such as Chapter 3 and 4 (FATCA) withholding procedures, loan restructuring and tax reform-based reorganization. He also has a background in accounting, having authored articles on SALT related legislation and prior to joining Berger Singerman, he worked for Alvarez and Marsal. Appel received an LL.M in Taxation from University of Florida Florida’s Frederic G. Levin College of Law, his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law and a B.S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business.
