Berger Singerman Expands Dispute Resolution Team With Addition of Justen Fischer and Karel Suarez

Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Justen Fischer and Karel Suarez have joined the firm as associates on the Dispute Resolution Team. Justen Fisher will be resident in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office and Karel will reside in the firm’s Miami office.
Justen is a 2015 graduate of Nova Shepard Broad College of Law, where he was a recipient of Dean’s Scholarship for overall academic excellence. Additionally, Justen has served as a Mentor/Tutor at NSU Shepard Broad College of Law’s Florida Bar Auxiliary Program since 2016.
After graduation, Justen practiced with Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Fort Lauderdale, where he worked as a member of the firm’s General Liability & Business Practice Groups. Here, he developed his skill set by exposure to a heavy load of litigation on behalf of insureds, insurance companies, and businesses across multiple industries in both state and federal courts. In addition to handling trial and arbitration, Justen traveled internationally on high profile cases in Canada and South America.
Karel is a 2016 graduate of the Florida International University College of Law, where he was the National President of the Hispanic National Bar Association Law Student Division and Vice President of the Student Bar Association.
After graduation, Karel practiced with the Diaz Reus firm in Miami, where he worked on various complex business and international litigation cases. He has argued in front of the 3rd DCA, published articles pertaining to our relationship with Cuba in the Miami Herald and Daily Business Review, and forged key relationships with officials at the Cuban Embassy. Additionally, Karel created and developed the Cuba Practice Group for his prior firm, with a focus on advising U.S. companies entering the Cuban market.
