Ryan Cox is a member of Berger Singerman's Government and Regulatory Team. She advises corporate, association, and nonprofit clients on legislative, regulatory, governance, and compliance matters. Ryan represents clients before the Florida Legislature, the Executive Office of the Governor, state agencies, and the Florida Cabinet, providing counsel on legislative and regulatory matters, public policy initiatives, and government relations. She also advises clients on contract drafting and negotiation, nonprofit and corporate governance, mergers, ethics compliance, risk mitigation, procurement matters, and business operations.
Ryan drafts proposed legislation, bill amendments, and policy papers on matters before the Florida Legislature and the Executive Office of the Governor and its agencies. She also prepares legal memoranda, represents clients before regulatory bodies, and advises clients on regulatory structures, business expansion, procurement opportunities, proposal strategy, and compliance. Before entering private practice, Ryan spent more than a decade serving in legal and policy roles within Florida state government, where she drafted legislation, analyzed proposed laws and public policy, and advised policymakers and executive branch officials on a broad range of legislative and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Ryan served as Staff Director of the Florida Senate Committee on Children, Families, and Elder Affairs, Senior Attorney for the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice, Senior Governmental Analyst in the Executive Office of the Governor, Staff Attorney for the Florida House of Representatives, Assistant General Counsel with the Florida Department of Financial Services, and Assistant Public Defender in Broward County. During her time at Ramba Consulting Group, she handled various legal and policy issues for the firm clients and also served as Deputy Executive Director of the Florida Supervisors of Elections Association, where she served as a liaison between Florida's county Supervisors of Elections and state officials and supports the implementation of election laws, training programs, and statewide initiatives.
