Josh Tartell is an associate and a member of the firm’s Business, Finance & Tax Team based in its Miami office. He focuses his practice on the acquisition, financing, leasing, disposition, and development of commercial real estate.
Josh represents clients in a broad range of real estate transactions nationwide and advises on matters involving commercial property across various asset classes, including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, self storage, affordable housing, student housing, senior living, condominium, and data center assets. He assists clients with structuring and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, loan documentation, leasing arrangements, and development-related agreements.

- Represented publicly traded REIT in the acquisition of a self-storage asset portfolio across Florida, Texas, and Georgia in a transaction valued at approximately $175MM.
- Represented private equity client in the acquisition of an industrial asset in Florida totaling ~506,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $147MM.
- Represented private equity client in the acquisition of a 284-unit multifamily asset in Florida in a transaction valued at approximately $140MM.
- Represented private equity client in the acquisition of a 392-unit multifamily asset in Arizona in a transaction valued at approximately $138MM.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the acquisition of a 249-unit senior living facility in Texas in a transaction valued at approximately $105MM.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the acquisition of an affordable housing portfolio in Massachusetts in a transaction valued at approximately $96MM.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the acquisition of an affordable multifamily housing portfolio in Massachusetts in a transaction valued at approximately $90MM, as well as the related $65MM acquisition financing.
- Represented private equity client in the acquisition of a 241-unit multifamily asset in North Carolina in a transaction valued at approximately $73MM.
- Represented private equity client in the acquisition of a 244-unit multifamily asset in Georgia in a transaction valued at approximately $70MM, as well as the related $56MM acquisition financing.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the acquisition of a 172-unit senior living community in Florida in a transaction valued at approximately $47MM.
- Represented developer client in the joint-venture acquisition of vacant land for development of a 430-unit mixed-use luxury hotel and condominium project in Miami in a transaction valued at approximately $45MM.
- Represented developer client in the acquisition of vacant land for development of a 505-unit luxury multifamily project in Miami in a transaction valued at approximately $40MM.
- Represented developer client in the acquisition of an industrial asset in Florida totaling ~550,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $36MM, as well as the related $20MM acquisition financing.
- Represented alternative investment firm client in the acquisition of a commercial office asset in Michigan totaling ~136,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $30MM.
- Represented developer client in the acquisition of an industrial asset in Florida totaling ~170,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $17.5MM.
Dispositions
- Represented developer client in the disposition of retail and parking condominium components of a large-scale mixed-use development in Florida in a transaction valued at approximately $512MM.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the disposition of a student housing portfolio across Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota, collectively comprising 782 units, in a transaction valued at approximately $326MM.
- Represented private equity client in the disposition of an industrial asset portfolio in Texas totaling ~570,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $74MM.
- Represented alternative investment firm client in the disposition of an industrial portfolio in Massachusetts and Texas totaling ~1.13MM square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $70MM, as well as the related Seller-financed mortgage loan of approximately $47MM and accompanying back-leverage loan of approximately $24MM.
- Represented alternative investment firm client in the disposition of an industrial portfolio in Pennsylvania totaling 262,415 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $66MM, as well as the related assignment and assumption of Seller’s $43MM mortgage loan.
- Represented private equity client in the disposition of an industrial asset portfolio in Pennsylvania totaling ~318,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $32MM.
- Represented investment firm client in the disposition of a 628-unit student housing asset in Alabama in a transaction valued at approximately $32MM.
- Represented developer client in the leasing and subsequent disposition of an industrial warehouse asset in Georgia totaling ~205,000 square feet in a transaction valued at approximately $29MM.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the disposition of a 204-unit student housing asset in Texas in a transaction valued at approximately $15MM.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the disposition of vacant land in Florida in a transaction valued at approximately $6MM.
Financings, Joint Ventures & Leasing Matters
- Represented real estate investment firm in a joint venture acquisition of a 376-unit student housing asset located in Kentucky in a transaction valued at approximately $110MM, as well as the related $82MM acquisition financing.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the refinancing of $69MM construction loan secured by a 196-unit multifamily, mixed-use asset in California, as well as the structuring of related joint venture arrangements.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the refinancing of $32MM mortgage loan secured by a commercial office asset located in Washington, D.C., as well as the structuring of related joint venture arrangements.
- Represented alternative investment firm client in connection with a $30MM senior mortgage loan financing the conversion of a 124-unit multifamily property into a leasehold condominium.
- Represented real estate investment firm client in the ground leasing, permitting, and construction of a ~150,000 square foot data center in South Florida.
