Hunter J. Grasso is an associate on the firm’s Business Reorganization Team. Hunter concentrates his practice on commercial bankruptcy and restructuring matters and related litigation. Hunter represents debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees, and other fiduciaries in complex bankruptcy proceedings. Hunter also advises on out-of-court restructurings, assists fiduciaries with substantial asset recoveries, and investigates and prosecutes director and officer liability claims.
Hunter has a growing interest in crypto, digital assets, and blockchain technology, and frequently writes about emerging issues at the intersection of crypto and bankruptcy law.

Director & Officer Liability and Bankruptcy Litigation
- Counsel to Liquidating Agent and former Chapter 11 Trustee of Universal Health Care Group, Inc., a failed health insurance company, in fraudulent transfer and breach of fiduciary duty litigation against a global private equity firm, resulting in a seven-figure settlement.
- Special litigation counsel to the Assignee of Crystal Cruises, LLC, retained to investigate and pursue breach of fiduciary duty claims against former directors and officers, resulting in a $15.5 million recovery for creditors.
- Special litigation counsel to Virginia Burdette, Chapter 7 Trustee of the bankruptcy estate of Wireless Advocates, LLC, retained to investigate and prosecute breach of fiduciary duty, avoidance, and other claims against the former officers, directors, and insiders, resulting in a $14 million recovery for creditors.
- Special litigation counsel to the Liquidating Trust of Furniture Factory Ultimate Holding, L.P.
- Represented affiliated real estate entities and their principal in Chapter 15 adversary proceeding and secured dismissal of civil RICO claims.
Bankruptcy & Restructuring
- Represented oil distributor in Chapter 11 case and negotiated favorable settlement of over $72 million in unsecured claims, resulting in the uncontested confirmation of Chapter 11 plan.
- Represented developer in lien and payment dispute stemming from a general contractor's bankruptcy.
- Represented Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors and Plan Administrator in Chapter 11 cases of FedNat Holding Company and its affiliates.
Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors and Receiverships
- Represents the Assignee of Crystal Cruises LLC in Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors cases involving numerous cross-border and litigation issues, more than 12,000 creditors, and over $1.4 billion in filed claims.
- Represents the Assignee of GWTWD, Inc. f/k/a Greenfield World Trade, Inc. and its affiliates in Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors cases.
- Represented court-appointed Receiver in the Solar Eclipse Investment Fund cases which involved 23 separate entities in the consolidated receivership and related to a nearly $2 billion fraud.
- Represented healthcare services provider as Assignor in Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors case.
- Represented a shareholder of a communications and engineering technology company in a multi-party ownership and control dispute, and secured the appointment of a receiver pending trial on the merits.
