Berger Singerman Strengthens Dispute Resolution Team with Addition of Prominent Litigator Ricardo A. Gonzalez as Partner

Seasoned attorney brings nearly two decades of experience
litigating cases in federal and state courts
Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Ricardo A. Gonzalez, Esq. has joined the firm as a partner on the Dispute Resolution Team. Gonzalez brings more than 20 years' experience as a litigator and regulatory defense and compliance counsel, specializing in commercial litigation, financial services, securities litigation, and international arbitration. He will be a resident in the firm’s Miami office.
Most recently, Gonzalez served as a litigation shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, where he earned an esteemed reputation serving as lead litigation and trial counsel in a variety of large and complex matters. Prior to his practice at Greenberg Traurig, Gonzalez worked as an attorney at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in Washington D.C., where he investigated and enforced violations of federal financial consumer protection and privacy laws in federal district courts and agency administrative proceedings.

In addition to leading several high-profile matters that have garnered significant local, national, and international media coverage, Gonzalez devotes time to pro bono matters. He was a member of the litigation team that represented two foster children in the landmark Florida "Gay Adoption Case" which declared a Florida statute banning the adoption of children by gays and lesbians unconstitutional on equal protection grounds.

He served as a special projects liaison to the chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation; a member of the Campaign Committee for Legal Services of Greater Miami; a member of the Older Adult Impact Council for the United Way of Greater Miami; and a judge for the Miami Herald Silver Knight awards.
Throughout his career, Gonzalez has received several notable industry recognitions including being named to U.S. News - Best Lawyers in Banking & Finance - Litigation, a Super Lawyers magazine “Rising Star” and a Daily Business Review “Most Effective Lawyer.”
Gonzalez received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A., cum laude, from Georgetown University.
