Berger Singerman Hosts 6th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Week Series To Ready Florida Businesses For Storm Season
June 15, 2021
Berger Singerman is helping business owners and employees across the state prepare for storm season with their sixth annual hurricane preparedness week. From June 21-25, the firm will conduct a survey and provide numerous resources including webinars, articles, and blogs with key tips for businesses in industries including insurance, environmental, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, agriculture, and real estate. Last year’s hurricane season produced 20 named storms, 8 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes. AccuWeather predicts this year’s Atlantic hurricane season will above normal.
With hurricane season already in full swing, it is crucial now more than ever for businesses to be equipped with the necessary tools to ensure they are prepared. Berger Singerman’s Hurricane Preparedness Week content, which can be found on their firm website, will help provide businesses with comprehensive information and tools that can be applied before, during and after a natural disaster. The featured webinar topics and dates include:
- June 22: Berger Singerman will lead a conversation with the National Weather Center, the International Hurricane Research Center and the South Florida Red Cross regarding hurricane preparedness, warning systems and what Floridians need to know about the upcoming hurricane season. Hurricane preparedness affects all industries, often requiring a multidisciplinary approach to address the countless issues arising after a natural disaster. Because of this, multiple attorneys across the firm’s Business, Finance & Tax, Business Reorganization, Construction Litigation, Cybersecurity and Data Breach, Dispute Resolution, Government and Regulatory, Insurance Litigation and Real Estate practice teams will be co-authoring articles on these topics to tackle the complex problems faced by business and property owners during hurricane season.
Serving as co-leaders of Berger Singerman’s Insurance Practice Group, Michael Higer and Gina Clausen Lozier are seasoned attorneys whose leadership has helped the firm establish its reputation as the leader in insurance litigation. Higer and Clausen Lozier previously received the Daily Business Review’s "Most Effective Lawyers" honor and were also two of only three lawyers in Florida recognized by prestigious legal publication Chambers & Partners USA for their work on behalf of insureds. Additionally, Clausen Lozier is currently Conference Chair for the Windstorm Insurance Network (WIND) and is significantly involved in the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters and the National Association of Public Adjusters.
