Berger Singerman Expands Construction, Real Estate and Tax Capabilities with Addition of Jonathan Ocampo, Josh Tartell, and Tyler Lowman

MIAMI FL – March 16 – Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Jonathan A. Ocampo, Joshua Tartell, and William Tyler Lowman have joined the firm as associates in its Miami office. Ocampo joins the firm’s Construction Practice, Tartell joins the Real Estate Team, and Lowman strengthens the firm’s Business, Finance & Tax Team.

Jonathan A. Ocampo is Board Certified in Construction Law and brings significant experience representing owners, developers, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers across a wide range of construction-related matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Ocampo practiced at The Barthet Firm, P.A., and before that, he practiced at Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. He also served as Chief Legal Officer and co-founder of a technology startup, where he played an active role in business development, fundraising, and regulatory compliance, bringing a business perspective to his legal work. Ocampo earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Florida International University.
Joshua Tartell focuses his practice on the acquisition, financing, leasing, disposition, and development of commercial real estate assets. He represents institutional and non-institutional clients, including private equity and credit funds, REITs, developers, banks, and insurance companies, in transactions nationwide involving multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality, self-storage, and mixed-use properties.
Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Tartell was a Real Estate Associate at Greenberg Traurig in Miami, where he advised clients on a broad range of commercial real estate transactions and drafted and negotiated complex transactional documents across the full deal lifecycle, including purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, joint venture agreements, development agreements, and leases. Tartell earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as Associate Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law and President of the Penn Law Real Estate Club. He also earned an M.B.A. in Real Estate from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Economics from Brown University.
William Tyler Lowman focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and commercial financing. Prior to joining the firm full-time, Lowman served as a Summer Associate and Part-Time Associate with Berger Singerman, where he assisted attorneys in preparing transactional and corporate governance documents and supported work on mergers and acquisitions, real estate, financing, and tax matters.
Lowman earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and completed an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. He also holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida’s Heavener School of Business.
