Berger Singerman Elevates Stephanie M. Chaissan and Marianne Curtis to Partner

Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Stephanie M. Chaissan and Marianne Curtis have been elevated to partner. Both Chaissan and Curtis joined the firm in 2018 and are members of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Team. Each is resident in the firm’s Miami office.
Throughout her career, Chaissan has handled a wide range of complex commercial disputes with a focus on construction law and litigation. She supports the firm’s clients with comprehensive legal services throughout all phases of construction projects, including pre-construction contract negotiations, bonding, contract performance, and dispute resolution. Chaissan has extensive experience representing the various parties involved in the design and construction process.
A top-rated attorney in Florida, Chaissan was named a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star for three consecutive years. She currently serves as a member of The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division and the Miami-Dade Chapter of Florida Association for Women Lawyers. In 2019, Chaissan was selected to participate in The Florida Bar’s Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy, Class VII. Chaissan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Delaware where she graduated magna cum laude. She then graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where she worked as an Articles and Comments Editor for the Inter-American Law Review and was a member of The Order of the Coif honor society.

Curtis is a trial lawyer and commercial litigator and concentrates her practice litigation involving employment matters, business disputes, and complex commercial litigation. Previously, she served as a Special Assistant with the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida and was an Assistant State Attorney with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. Marianne honed her skills in state and federal court, and she tried over 85 jury trials to verdict, litigated numerous evidentiary motions, and handled multiple appeals.
A top-rated attorney in Florida, Curtis was named a Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2019 and 2020. She received The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Women Lawyer Achievement Award for 2019 and The Rising Star Award from the Miami-Dade Florida Association for Women Lawyers in 2019. She currently serves as Governor in the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division; a board of director of the Miami Dade Florida Association for Women Lawyers; and a member of the DIBIA Dream Board of Directors. Curtis received both her Bachelor of Arts and her Juris Doctor from University of Miami, where she graduated cum laude and played on the women’s basketball team.
