William Diab, Edward Baker and Samuel Gilot Join the Firm as Associates and Expands the Firm’s Dispute Resolution and Business Finance and Tax Teams

Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that William O. Diab, Edward Baker and Samuel Gilot have joined the firm as associates to serve clients in connection with complex commercial litigation, construction, real estate and insurance matters.

William O. Diab joins the firm as an associate on its Dispute Resolution Team and will work primarily with our Construction Law practice group. His practice focuses on construction and complex commercial litigation in both state and federal court. Most recently, Diab was an associate attorney at Daniels, Rodriguez, Berkeley, Daniels & Cruz, P.A., where he represented design professionals and contractors in disputes involving complex commercial and construction litigation, arbitration, design professional liability, government bid protests, and appeals.
Diab attended the American University of Beirut where he earned his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy, and his J.D. from Florida International University College of Law. In law school, he served as President of the International Law Student Association, served as one of the founding members and Editor of the World Arbitration and Mediation Review, and served on the International Moot Arbitration Team where he prepared briefs and argued at the Vis Moot East Competition in Hong Kong. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
Edward Baker joins the firm’s Business, Finance & Tax Team and Real Estate Law practice group. His practice focuses on commercial real estate law, providing transactional counsel in commercial real estate matters. Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Baker was an associate at Duval & Stachenfeld LLP in New York City, where he served a wide range of clients, including private and public real estate firms, family offices, joint venture groups and private investors. Baker also has regulatory experience in land use and zoning matters.
Baker attended Loyola University in New Orleans where he earned his B.A. in Political Science. He received his M.A. in Urban Policy and Administration from Brooklyn College and his J.D. from New York Law School. Baker speaks English and Spanish.
Samuel Gilot is the newest addition to the firm’s Dispute Resolution Team and Insurance Law practice group. His practice focuses on first-party property claims litigation. Most recently, Gilot was an associate at Kubicki Draper, where he handled first and third-party insurance, product liability, and premise liability matters. Additionally, Gilot has worked at the Florida Legislature where he’s advised members of the Florida House of Representatives on commerce and insurance related issues.
Gilot earned his B.A. at the University of South Florida and received his J.D. from Florida State University School of Law. While in law school, Gilot won multiple national mock trial competitions and was recognized as a “Best Advocate.” Gilot speaks English, Creole, and is proficient in French.
