Karel Suarez is a member of Berger Singerman's Dispute Resolution Team based in Miami. He practices complex business and international litigation at the trial and appellate levels. He primarily handles highly contested matters involving large sums of money and multiple parties in Florida’s state and federal courts.
Karel also frequently advises individuals, as well as domestic and foreign companies, with respect to litigation and compliance issues related to conducting business in Cuba. In this regard, he regularly counsels clients about OFAC regulations and the applicability of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act. Karel is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS).

- Successfully resolved intricate shareholders derivative claims involving deceptive trade practices and the breach of fiduciary duties in the Complex Business Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit.
- Effectively represented a South Florida logistics company in a multi-party commercial dispute centered around claims for fraudulent inducement.
