MIAMI, FL – April 26, 2017 – Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Managing Partner, James Berger, and Co-Chair, Paul Steven Singerman, have been named honorees for South Florida Business Journal’s esteemed South Florida Ultimate CEO Award. Berger Singerman was the only business with two executives and the only law firm selected for this distinction, a testament to the firm’s exceptional leadership.
The award recognizes 15 of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties’ top chief executive officers for their business acumen, leadership skills and community involvement. The award recipients will be honored at an awards gala on September 28th at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale.
One of South Florida’s leading law firms for more than 30 years, Berger Singerman was founded by Mitchell Berger in 1985, with his brother James joining as Managing Partner in 1986 and Singerman joining as Co-Chair in 1997. Under their leadership, the firm has grown from 20 employees to more than 160 employees in offices across the state, including Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Tallahassee. The firm advises clients in a wide range of practice areas including: Business Reorganization, Business, Finance & Tax, Dispute Resolution and Government and Regulatory. As the firm has grown, so has the business and its breadth of practice, serving a diverse client base with a Florida focus and international scope, frequently practicing all over the U.S. and handling matters in Europe, Asia, and South and Central America.
Throughout the firm’s growth, Berger and Singerman have remained committed to creating a corporate culture that fosters collaboration among employees and encourages philanthropy. Over the past decade, Berger Singerman has donated more than $1.5 million to nonprofits across Florida in an effort to support the organizations that work to better the lives of the less fortunate and those in need. In 2015 alone, in conjunction with the firm’s 30th anniversary, the firm donated $300,000 to 30 charities located throughout the four Florida communities in which it has offices. This landed Berger Singerman as one of the top 25 South Florida philanthropic companies in 2015 as reported by the South Florida Business Journal.
Berger Singerman’s recognition by the South Florida Business Journal follows other prestigious awards and recognition that the firm has received, including being named to The National Law Journal’s Midsize Hot List for three years in a row, being named a top Florida law firm in Chambers USA, and inclusion in Best Lawyers in America’s 2017 edition, Super Lawyers’ Florida Super Lawyers Top Lists, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Lawyers list and Law360’s Florida Powerhouses list. In addition, Berger Singerman was awarded the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s South Florida Good to Great award in 2016 and was also the recipient of the same award in 2006.
